I have to say that since 2009 arrived 11 months and 18 days ago it has not done much to impress me.
Actually, 2009 has done nothing but upset me, make me angry and make me cry many, many times.
Let’s begin with how 2009 arrived and the economy continued to go downhill.
Things really sucked when my little Tatertot became rabbit food in January and a bunny nibbled on his finger warranting a very long and costly trip to the emergency room.
It stole away the life of a bloggy friends husband and soul mate leaving her behind, alone to pick up the pieces of her life and put them back together.
It continued to suck when the life of a beautiful young girl named Maddie was taken from all of us leaving her family and the rest of the interwebz to grieve and wipe away tears every time we set our eyes on the color purple.
Socks the cat bid us ado and moved on to kitty heaven.
Dorthy Zbornak downed her last piece of cheesecake with the girls as we said farewell to Bea Arthur.
I was robbed of the chance that Ed McMahon would ever show up at my door with a check from Publisher’s Clearing House.
The days of feathering my hair are now in the past as Farrah Fawcett moved on to a better place.
Infomercials are no longer enjoyable since the loss of Billy Mays…..I can no longer use OxiClean…it’s just not the same.
My cousin’s half brother has continued to fight for his life since he came into this world on Father’s Day earlier than anticipated.
My best friend of 25 years and her family had to watch as her father underwent brain surgery and a few weeks later see her brother in a coma battling for his life.
Those of us in the blogosphere and twitterverse have watched and prayed as little Stellan battled SVT, flatlined and than defied all odds and pulled through everything and is now living without SVT (okay, so not all of that sucks but the whole being hospitalized and flatlining—-yeah, that sucked!)
So, let’s just skip to today when I receive word that another dear friend in the blogosphere and twitterverse that makes me laugh and almost pee my pants, teaches me new things, who has already suffered so much in her young life has a stroke and ends up in the ICU.
Seriously 2009….SERIOUSLY!!!
WTF??
This is just a short list of all that has happened this year and well…..
As far as I’m concerned 2009, you can suck a big fat one!
Thanks Friend. And I agree wholeheartedly, 2009 can suck a big one, bite off a chunk and choke on it.
If it manages to spit it out I hope it hits 2010 in the head and knocks some damn sense into it.

yes 2009 has sucked long and hard, we can not deny that. I found you from Anissa. She is my real life friend of 9 years. for me 2009 sucked because my darling daughter left me for college, my 8 year old got his first broken bone, the economy is in the shitter, I found out my brain is sagging, overflowing, oozing, or whatever. Anissa comforted me in her usual way with a phone call and asking if I was trying to 1 up her in the tragedy department when I said hell yeah, she laughed and said well well… Ok so she clearly wins this one. But I am grateful also, I am grateful for Peyton being 1 year cancer free this month, I am grateful that I am able to type this comment, and I am grateful to see the outpouring of love and dedication from this community of bloggidy type people who I can’t wrap my head around but fully support to someone who NO ONE can deny is force to be reckoned with. If anyone on this planet can pull this off it will be Anissa. Thank everyone of you for loving my snarky, witty, sometimes bitchy always boisterous, caring brilliant beautiful friend.

I’m sorry that 2009 has been such a difficult year.
For us, it’s been a rather good year – or perhaps a really dramatic/tumultuous year, there has been a lot of really good things, and some really lousy things as well.
