You may remember, back in June, I introduced you to my cousin Anna’s new baby brother Ben.

For those who need a refresher or are new to the site, Ben was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome on Father’s Day.  You can learn more about Ben, his family and his journey via his Caring Bridge site.

Since birth Ben has had numerous surgeries and trips to the hospital.  In addition to being one of the cutest little bugs I know (see evidence below), he’s also quite expensive.  Yep. More expensive than normal.

A fellow blogger, friend, mom, sister etc.  and her family are facing a very hard time right now.

@MckMama and her family are on a very bumpy road.

Little Stellan is currently in the hospital battling SVT for the 3rd day in a row.

Last I heard, they were going to be transporting him to Boston via flight for life.

I ask you to pray for Stellan & his family and we hope he makes a great recovery.

He has already beat so many odds in his short lifetime this far, we want to see him beat some more!

Please send your loving words of encouragement to @MckMama on Twitter or stop by her blog My Charming Kids and leave her a little note to let her know you are thinking of them in their time of need.

You know you are a sister:

  • When other sisters just like you check in on you daily via a blog, a phone call, a tweet, an email, text message or any other type of communication.
  • When your sisters from all over  the country rally together when you need the most support and do everything possible to help you from afar.
  • When you are quiet for a few days and your sisters organize a search party to help find you and make sure everything is okay.
  • When you lose someone you love and your sisters are there to help you pick up the pieces in any which way that they can.
  • When you are going through a divorce or breakup, a miscarriage or are recovering from a health related issue, thousands of your sisters send virtual prayers and ask others to pray for you as well.
  • When you meet one of your sisters IRL for the first time,  you feel as though you have known each other your whole lives.
  • When your sisters in the virtual world hear you are having a rough time financially or your child’s brand new bike was stolen start chipping in here and there to help you out without your knowledge.

To me, this is how you truly know you are a sister with other mom bloggers.  I have only been a mom blogger since April 2009 but was an avid reader before that.  I have seen these sisters that I speak of come out in droves when another sister is in need.  I have seen this community do amazing things.  When I refer to something another sister wrote while speaking to someone, I tell the story as if that sister is my sister in real life.  I feel very close to each and every one of my sisters even though I have never communicated with most of them.  Reading their posts everyday and seeing that they are experiencing a lot of the same things I am helps me to bond with them in a way that I cannot explain to non bloggers.

I love the blogging community and all of the love, help and support that each and every sister shares.  I have learned many things about myself as a person, a mom and a wife thanks to my sisters and I hope that I too am one of their sisters!
