A year ago, I learned just how quickly a life can be taken away.
A year ago, I learned that a little girl I had grown very fond of via the stories her mother shared with the world on her blog had left this world.
A year ago, I learned just how kind strangers can be.
A year ago, I learned to love each and every person in my life a little bit harder then I already was.
A year ago, I learned that everything can change in the blink of an eye.
A year ago, my life changed.
To the adorable Miss Madeline Alice Spohr:
You left this world too soon and even though I never had a chance to meet you in real life, you had a very large impact on my world.
Although my children never knew you, they do know of you and walked in your honor last year and are excited to do it again this year.
To you Maddie, I thank you.
Thank you for changing my life and showing me how to love more.
To Mike and Heather Spohr:
I think of you everyday when I look at my children and I remember to tell them I love them because your pain has taught me to never take anything for granted.
I know there are no words that can make everything in your life return to “normal” but I want you to know that you have also had a huge impact on my life.
Seeing the way you have supported each other this past year has taught me that it is possible to pull yourself out of the darkness when you have your best friend by your side.
To Mike, Heather, Maddie and Annie:
Today I will be thinking of all of you.
Today I will see hues of purple everywhere I look.
You are all in my heart.
For those reading this, I ask you to take a moment and make a donation to Friends of Maddie and help another family in need.

There have been A LOT of things going on since my last post.
We have acquired an additional body in our house full time and another one part time.
A close friend of mine and his 9 year old son are staying with us temporarily while my friend heals from a break up and gets back on his feet.
His 9 year old son is staying with us as well, when he is not at his mom’s.
Things have been hectic, but we are happy to be able to help them out.
In the mean time, I’ve been trying to keep up on my household chores, which the little Tatertot is making extremely frustrating.
He has been enjoying taking his diaper off at night and peeing in his bed, meaning we are washing sheets….A LOT.
The kid will not keep his clothes or his diaper on, so it looks like we are going to have to turn to the trusty Duct tape and start securing those bad boys.
Next week, we plan to start the potty training, so wish us luck.
In other news, the Hardworking Hubby and I have both been keeping busy with school. I am in my last week of my 5th block of classes. After Sunday, I will officially be halfway through my program. YAY!
The kids are all doing well.
Zman will be graduating from the D.A.R.E. program this evening so I am getting ready to attend the ceremony.
The DramaQueen is still as dramatic as ever but is kicking some serious butt as well.
Tatertot is also talking a lot more and is more active everyday.
So, what’s new in your world??
Today marks the day that my dear, sweet, kind, loving, amazingly wonderful mother becomes a Senior Citizen (not everywhere, but she’ll still get an awesome discount and some sweet free stuff at a few places).
The best part is, she doesn’t look a day over 40.
She looks so damn young that most people rarely believe she is my mom.
So, please take a moment and wish my mommy a Happy Birthday today!

Today is my sister Liz’s birthday.
I won’t tell you how old she is.
But she is my OLDER sister.
I just wanted to take a moment and wish her a Happy Happy Birthday and remind her of the times when she was quite fond of her baby sister!

This last one doesn’t really show you how much she has adored me over the years but it does show you just how lovely she is!

So, Happy Birthday to my big sister.
I hope you have a fabulous day!
P.S. Your card/gift is in the mail!
Enjoy your day!!!
